Original Songs by Jim Mohr  |  Donate $10 PayPal.Me/songwriter/10

My name is Jim Mohr. I am a singer / songwriter (with emphasis on songwriter). I bought the domain name JimMohr.net in 2003 so I could put my original music on the internet. It has taken me over 10 years to gain the skills to put it all together. So this is my legacy. It is what I am and how I would like to be known. I am just a normal guy wanting to be heard.

I have a cynical view of the music industry and dislike most popular music. I am a fan of Roots / Americana songs that never hit the radio. Do not be fooled - the music you hear on the radio today is engineered with auto tune and pitch correction. Very few singers can really sing as well as their production team would like you to believe. And what makes matters worse, it has the high definition TV effect. Once you have watched high def TV, you can never go back. The further (timewise) you are away from raw recordings, the harder it is to listen to.

I have 7 CD's recorded as of now and am still writing music. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to the music. Please listen to the chord structure and the words. I play all the instruments (with a guest now and then) and my wife (of 24 years) Suzanne sings harmony.  Contact me at songwriter@fastmail.fm or call 260-226-3733.

NEW: This is the long awaited album "I'm Me". Recorded at Tony Godsey's TGR Studio in Napoleon Ohio. I owe the world to Tony for taking on this project. The 6 albums below were all recorded by me in the back bedroom on a Fostex digital recorder. I used to write a song and record all the parts and finish it before I moved on to a new song. This is my first experience at knocking out 15 songs at the same time. God Bless Tony for all the remixes, but I think it turned out well. If I could sing better, it would be ass-kicking.      A lot of songwriters will tell you that they don't really know where the inspiration for their songs come from. I subscribe to that theory, and to make it a step further, some of my songs seemed like they already existed and all I had to do was document the experience. It is a Blessed feeling when that happens. I cannot really "turn it on" or "turn it off", it just happens. Sometimes it doesn't happen for a long time and I am sure at some point it will never happen again. But between events, I try to write anyway and learn new things so when it does happen again, I will be ready.

At some point, I would like to put together some of my archived recordings that were done on cassette. God willing, they will be here.
